Judith Bomster to Present at 10th Annual New Hampshire Bar Association Ethics CLE Program

June 24, 2016:   Judith L. Bomster to be panelist at the 10th Annual New Hampshire Bar Association Ethics CLE Program.  This annual Continuing Legal Education program is open to all New Hampshire Attorneys to explore ethical questions in the legal environment designed to avoid and respond to complaints.   The focus this year will be on new ethical issues and Judith will present specifically on ethical considerations in estate planning and recent developments in the protection of our most vulnerable citizens from financial exploitation.  All NH attorneys are encouraged to attend.

CCRC’s (Continuing Care Retirement Communities) across the country are growing in popularity as a residential option when empty nesters are downsizing. The decision to join a “CCRC” can be daunting when faced with so many choices.  Judith presents on similar topics with Birch Hill Terrace, a CCRC in Manchester, New Hampshire, and assists members of the community in exploring issues that seniors and families should be considering when evaluating CCRCs as a long-term care planning option.

Ann Butenhof Attends Special Needs Alliance Conference in Hawaii


Ann N. Butenhof recently returned from the Special Needs Alliance Conference www.specialneedsalliance.org   “Seas of Change” held in Honolulu, Hawaii, from March 3- 5 2016.   The focus of the annual gathering of professionals engaged in advising clients in the area of Special Needs is to exchange information and keep current with the ever-changing legal landscape facing clients dealing with special needs situations.  This year the conference focused on many of the complex issues which arise as individuals with an array of disabilities transition from being a child to being an adult, and as parents taking care of such individuals in their own homes age and become frail.  Topics included housing options, Title II and SSI work rules, individuals who are “off the grid” (i.e., never plugged into the public benefits system), issues relating to law enforcement and disabilities, and an update on public policy developments.

Marc Hebert is a Certified Financial Planner and registered investment advisor. At the invitation of Mr. Hebert, Ann answered callers’ questions relating to estate planning, special needs trusts and long-term care.
